The via ferrata des Étroits

Set in the heart of the Etroits gorges, the via Ferrata in Dévoluy is virtually horizontal.

Accessible to all, two fun and original routes take you through rocky corridors and cave passages.

Important

The via ferrata is only partially open: for the moment, only the Traversée des Beaumes is accessible.
For a first discovery, it is strongly advised to call a professional.

A vertical world above the void

The via ferrata at Les Étroits will surprise you with its airy, wild atmosphere.

In just a few moments, you’ll leave the ground and be in the heart of the gorges, in a spectacular mineral world where the void and the rock are with you all the way.

Do you have all the necessary equipment?
Helmet, harness and lanyard with shock absorber are essential if you are to enjoy the route in complete safety.

Two routes, two atmospheres

The via ferrata at Les Étroits offers two complementary itineraries, accessible according to your level and desires.

Itinerary

An accessible and progressive route, ideal for discovering the activity.

There are two possible departures:

A first, easy route, with a gentle start after a short approach, and a second, more fun route, with a vertical ladder descending from the start.

The two variants meet at a footbridge.

The route then continues along a ridge, alternating steep sections with more rolling sections, including a passage through a cave, until you reach an escape route from which you can finish or continue on to the next part of the route.

Difficulty: AD
Difference in altitude: 50 m
Duration: 1h30 to 2h
Length: 550 m

Itinerary

For those who want to extend the adventure, the Voie Vertigo offers a more sporting and aerial experience.

The gorges narrow and the atmosphere becomes wilder and more immersive.
The route gains in intensity with more physical and exposed sections.

You move between walls, negotiate stuck boulders and regularly change banks, until you reach a spectacular monkey bridge over the river.

The exit comes after a final traverse, marking the end of a challenging and memorable itinerary.

Difficulty : D
Difference in altitude : 100 m
Duration : 3h to 3h30
