Description

Accompanied by René, a mountain guide, and Zoé, a pastoral counselor, you’ll meet Mathilde, a herdswoman on the alpine pastures, for a conversation about her work. Good physical condition is required.
Whilst Le Dévoluy is home to ten times as many sheep as people, the profession of shepherd is characteristic of mid-mountain regions. Have a chat, ask questions, get up close to the Patou dogs and the sheep they protect, and make the most of the wide open spaces around you. Sturdy footwear, mountain clothing and a packed lunch are recommended. Access to the mountain pasture is at your own risk. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
