Whether you're traveling alone, with a group, or with your family, you can try your hand at caving in the caves and chourums of the Dévoluy, go river trekking or canyoning in some of the country's most beautiful rivers, or explore Europe's first "via souterrata," created in the Dévoluy in 2017. THE VIA SOUTERRATA It’s a true via ferrata with the unique feature of being entirely underground. The route, set up in a chourum in the Dévoluy, is a first in Europe. You can’t miss this… You’ll be the first. A very fun route, not difficult at all, but you could say it’s “committed.” That means that down there, in the dark, you’ll be on your own… There’s no cell service. Martinho will guide those who prefer not to go alone through the darkness. You’ll be equipped with a harness, special lanyards, and a helmet with a light. In addition to this standard gear for added comfort and safety, we’ll also provide you with a full-body caving suit. CAVING Martinho offers short, accessible outings for families with children ages 8 to 10, as well as more technical, athletic explorations for older participants. Everyone—young and old—will be equipped with wetsuits, helmets, rubber boots, and harnesses, just like real cavers. You’ll go rock climbing. You’ll descend using rappel ropes. You’ll walk through underground rivers and cross small bodies of water in an inflatable boat. You’ll marvel at the stalactites, stalagmites, and other crystalline formations. You’ll discover total darkness and the incredible tranquility that reigns underground. You’ll experience a true adventure in uncharted territory and a journey out of time. WATER HIKING AND CANYONING Jumps, slides, rappelling, and waterfalls under the sun of the Hautes-Alpes. Martinho will guide you to the region’s most beautiful sites. Within a 20- to 50-kilometer radius of Dévoluy, the neighboring mountain ranges offer plenty of opportunities to have a blast descending these torrents that flow almost vertically. In beautiful mountain settings, under the astonished gaze of chamois and marmots, crystal-clear waters rush down the slopes, forming natural slides, waterfalls, and pools that invite you to take a dip! When the sun is out, it’s magnificent. Day trips with a short picnic stop let you fully experience this true adventure. Other small, water-filled “canyons” accessible in half a day are perfect for introducing younger kids and enjoying refreshing adventures during the height of summer, with family or friends. More technical descents (50-meter-high waterfalls requiring rappelling) await those seeking a thrilling yet safe experience. HIKING All the hikes in Dévoluy, Vercors, and Oisans. From the most legendary to the most unexpected, original, and unusual. From the most popular (great classics) to the most secret (the guide’s hidden gems). Easy short walks to spot chamois, marmots, vultures, and all the other animals of our mountains. Hikes up to the country’s most beautiful peaks. Some accessible to everyone and others more technical, reserved for those with a “mountain” gait. But also underground hikes (our specialty), gourmet hikes (to sample local flavors), and themed hikes (fauna, flora, geology, caving, ecology, history, heritage…).
