Based in Collet, this young self-taught man makes his own Damascus knives. This is a specific technique of assembling layers of hard and soft steel by welding them at the forge, which can go from about ten layers of steel to 500 or even 1,000 layers. Damascus knives are recognisable by the pattern and relief left on the blade after dipping in acid, which also gives the steel its colour (black, grey, white).
As for the wooden handles of his knives, Tony buys blocks of wood (mainly exotic wood) which he shapes himself until the final assembly.
On his website, a catalogue of a dozen fixed-blade knives is offered (about 10 to 15 cm long depending on the model). The so-called folding knives should arrive by the end of the year. All these knives are made to order and sold with a leather sheath. Allow about a week for production.
