The crest of the Baumes

Nested between the resorts of Superdévoluy and La Joue du Loup, the Baume ridge reserves for those who reach it a 360° view of the entire massif. Halfway between the resorts, the spot overlooks the Collet du Tat.

At the top, the giants of Dévoluy offer a striking spectacle. To the north, the Obiou opens the ball with to its left, an endless line of ridges up to Garnesier. To the south, the Bure peak, emblem of the massif, shelters on its plateau the most powerful observatory of the northern hemisphere: NOEMA. To the east, the barrier formed by the Lieraver and Farraud mountains seems impassable. As a proof, only the Noyer pass allows to connect Le Dévoluy to Champsaur, in the good days.
Just have a look also on the Saint Gicon mountain, a real springboard that hides behind it, the Sautet lake and the Pellafol plain.

A reading of landscapes 100% Wahou effect!

From the resorts of Superdévoluy or La Joue du Loup, put on your snowshoes and follow the markings materialized in pink, indicating the collet du Tat. A drop of a little more than 100 meters of difference in altitude will lead you to the collet where already, you can enjoy a very beautiful panorama.

Look up, on your right from Superdévoluy, or on your left from La Joue du Loup, the Baumes ridge is making an eye for you. You will have to climb another hundred meters. These can be steeper depending on the route you choose… Don’t think too much, once you’re up there, you won’t want to come down anymore!
